Other ways to help!
Be patient
Cancer mouth sores are one of the most painful and debilitating side effects of treatment. Your loved one might be struggling to eat or talk. Be patient if it takes them a little longer to respond or finish their food. Getting through cancer treatment is hard.
Be accommodating
Maybe your loved is usually a foodie or the life of the party, but now they don’t feel like talking or meeting you for lunch. Talking and eating with mouth sores can be very painful. Stay in touch through text, email, and snail mail or offer to eat in and make soft foods.
Be generous
Cancer is expensive and unfortunately most supportive care products aren’t covered by insurance. You can support your loved one by helping cover the cost of some of these products or by helping them find resources and financial assistance programs.
